[ To be fair, he'd probably have followed Picard around in earnest if only he'd been there, and if Kirk was the only one present, well, he'd follow him around too. But Janeway was here, so she got the full weight of his attention. And yes, there was more to it than that. She really was spellbinding--he wouldn't have selected her otherwise. He hadn't had the chance to spend this much time with her before, able to call on her as he pleased, and the longer he spent in her company the more he found he respected and cared for her; an advantage Picard would never quite have.

She could tell, and he knew that she would use it against him, not that he resented it--not at all! He was Q, after all. Anything less than respect for what he might be capable of wasn't worth his time, and she wouldn't be Kathryn Janeway if she didn't size up every interaction for the advantages it might grant her.
